Important information

Since 2006, every entrepreneur/vehicle owner with vehicles that are used commercially and have a digital tachograph installed is legally obliged to read out the digital tachograph and the EU driver card at regular intervals and to archive the data in accordance with the law. This obligation can be fulfilled by reading out the tachograph manually in the vehicle with a so-called download key and then transferring the data to archiving software or by carrying out this process fully automatically using our solution TachoLive abbildet. Furthermore, since June 15, 2019, all newly registered commercial vehicles from 3.5 t that are used for commercial goods transport must be equipped with the new Smart Tacho, as stipulated by EU Regulation No. 165/2014. The corresponding deadlines for reading out also apply here.

Digidown Mk2

The Digidown has been specially developed for downloading digital tachograph mass storage data and driver card data. The Digidown can be easily configured using the configuration software. The 3 pushbuttons can be used to select what is to be read from the tachograph memory. The 3 pushbuttons allow you to choose between reading out the entire memory, reading out according to configuration or reading out just one inserted driver card. LEDs indicate the status of the readout process. (For the driver card download, the driver card must be inserted in the speedometer).

Digidown Terminal LAN / WLAN

This universal download terminal reads Gen.1 and Gen.2 driver cards, takes files from a download device, reads RFID labels for driving license checks and uploads these files to an FTP server of your choice. Your IT infrastructure is only minimally affected. Simply enter the data and directory of the FTP server directly at the terminal. The data transfer then takes place automatically and, above all, securely, since the data is sent exclusively and directly to the destination configured in the terminal.

The validity of a driver card is 5 years

In order to comply with the European directives regarding driving and rest times, a digital tachograph is required in the vehicle, which records all events. For this purpose, the driver needs a driver card, which serves as personal proof for the driving and rest times. The driver card contains the driver's personal data. In addition, driving activities, breaks, working time, stand-by time and also speeding are recorded on the driver card.

The archived data must also be backed up on a separate data carrier and kept for one year

Up to 62 entrepreneur cards can be issued to one company.

The application for the entrepreneur card takes place via TÜV or Dekra.

The fees may differ depending on the federal state. The cost of applying for an Entrepreneur Card is approximately €30 to €45.
